Oliver Zeter Riesling 2018
This Riesling is a sublime example of dry Riesling from the southern part of Germany. Plenty of fresh fruit supported by nimble acidity. Clean and appetising, perfect aperitif or with Asian cuisine. Germany, Pfalz, 12.5%, 3.1% res sugar vegan
Oliver Zeter Grauburgunder 2018
Grauburgunder is Pinot Gris – this wine is made from carefully selected grapes, part fermented in tank and part in used wood, the wine therefore has texture but no oak flavour. It is soft on the palate with a nutty and rounded character. Germany, Pfalz 13% vegan
Oliver Zeter Pinot Noir 2017
Germany is the third largest grower of Pinot Noir in the world and in recent years have had great recognition for the quality of these delicate wines. The Pinot Noir displays a fine, diverse and elegant cherry flavour and runs through a partial maturation in wood. Half of the wine was therefore stored for a […]
Oliver Zeter Sauvignon Blanc Fume 18
‘Lightly sweet and grassy on the nose with some floral notes and real fatness of fruit. Rather exotic – like a tropical fruit – passion fruit? Long and rich but tied up at the end by very fresh acidity. I think many people would enjoy this. Though not Sancerre purists. Screwcap and nice modern packaging […]
Oliver Zeter Reserve Pinot Noir 2017
Light to mid garnet. Quite evolved, cabbagey Pinot nose. Certainly not overdone nor over-oaked. A pretty wine. Round, sweet and slightly salty. Easy to like and easy to drink without food even if there is a light dusting of very fine tannins. A hint of orange peel, long with a very slight, and not unattractive, […]
Oliver Zeter Goldschatz ‘TBA’
Goldschatz means ‘Pot of Gold’ and this wine is aptly named. It is made from four different grape varieties, picked when shrivelled on the vine, often with the benefit of ‘noble rot’. It meand the wine is immensely concentrated, rich and yet still with acidity. 37.5 cl – Sauvignon Blanc, Ortega, Huxelrebe, Rieslaner Vintage 1993, […]
Bibo Runge Hargardun Riesling 2016
This village wine (Hargardun is the old name for the village of Hallgarten) is brimming with lemon and ripe apple flavors, the palate at once juicy and racy. The finish is very fresh and seriously mineral. Drink through 2022. 12.5% 4.6 g/res sugar
S A Prüm Wehlener Sonnenuhr Riesling Spätlese 2011
Spätlese is the term given to wines that have reached a particular level of ripeness, measured by sugar content. The wine is medium sweet, beautifully ripe and with a long and lingering taste. Honey, grapefruit, tropical fruit all wrapped up in a zing of acidity. Lovely on its own and delicious with mild to mid […]
R Prüm Solitar Dry Riesling 2019
The very essence of great dry Riesling is the harmony of fruit and acidity. At the simple estate level of wine this is exemplary. Clean, fresh and as appealing as a ripe apple this is a wonderful aperitif and super with mildly aromatic dishes.
S A Prüm Wehlener Sonnenuhr ‘Devon’ Grosses Gewächs Riesling 2010
Grosses Gewächs is the term given to the very best dry wines from a single vineyard. This one comes from the sundial (sonnenuhr) vineyard in the village of Wehlen. Incredibly complex with layers of tropical flavour bound together with firm but soft acidity.
